Our first hour was spent on our guide’s farm, where I learned about the coffee growing process and got to pick some coffee beans. “I think it was very overpriced - we spoke to a few other people on the tour who'd booked through local agents and paid a lot less. But, I was very happy with the guide. He was full of information and interesting facts about coffee growing and production, and had a lovely manner about him too. It was nice to visit a small family-run business. I was a bit disappointed that we couldn't actually buy any coffee at the end of the tour. Apparently they sold out the day before - I guess that's one of the disadvantages about being a small producer in the grand scheme of things.”

“Rivera Coffee is such an amazing and magical location. I truly enjoyed the tour of the property especially when I recognized plants or fruits. I enjoyed learning about the way they grow the coffee plants, the brewing process, why other vegetation is grown in and around the coffee plants, planting the young coffee plants as well as the upkeep. It’s definitely NOT a part time or easy process. The fresh tortillas con frijoles were absolutely delicious and the coffee, out of this world.
